A premier winery estate owned by NASCAR team owner and Hall of Fame member Richard Childress, located in Lexington, NC is seeking an Event Supervisor. The winery opened in 2004 and produces over 30 wines ranging from sweet to dry. In addition to offering award-winning wines, the winery estate also offers state-of-the-art services and hospitality. Childress Vineyards offers multiple event venues allowing for specialization in small and large weddings, corporate meetings, private dinners, and a variety of other events.
Qualified applicants preferably have two years of hospitality and or event coordinating experience.
Job responsibilities include but may not be limited to:
– Oversee event staff members with a high level of professionalism and provide efficient solutions to any problems that arise
– Design thorough and detailed layouts and timelines for events
– Maintain communication with Chef on behalf of clients to secure event menus, food orders, service style, and catering supplies
– Oversee setup & breakdown of all events
– Assign staff for events through an online scheduling program
– Update and maintain event calendar
– Other duties as assigned
– Provide superior customer service in all interactions with clients, prospects, vendors, and co-workers
Qualifications:
– Wedding and corporate event planning experience preferred
– Strong verbal and written communication skills needed
– Able to work flexible schedule to coincide with scheduled events
– Must be able to work weekends and nights
– Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
– Experience with Microsoft RMS a plus
– Demonstrate the ability to work as part of a team in a constantly changing environment, as well as individually with minimal supervision
– Strong customer service, time management, problem-solving, and organizational skills are necessary
– Ability to portray the Childress Vineyards brand and core values
Physical Requirements:
– Must be able to lift 35+ pounds on a daily basis
– Ability to remain on feet for long periods of time, climb stairs, bend, and stoop

Responsibilities include:
- Ensuring spaces are prepared for the next business day by taking out trash, tidying furniture, and dusting surfaces
- Sweeping, mopping, sanitizing floors
- Cleaning and sanitizing restrooms
- Restocking items such as paper products, hand soap etc.
- Cleaning mirrors and windows
- Cleaning and maintaining exterior entrance ways and seating areas (e.g. removal of debris and trash, etc.)
- Reporting any damages or repairs accordingly.
Skills required:
- Proven experience as custodian, janitor, or a similar role
- Knowledge of use and maintenance of industrial cleaning equipment and appliances
- Close attention to detail and conscientiousness
- Good physical condition and strength
- High school diploma is preferred but not required
- Some lifting required
This position requires work on weekends and holidays, as well as occasional night shifts and winery events.

The Bistro, a fast-paced restaurant currently hiring a highly motivated individual with a team-oriented mindset and a readiness to learn and grow. The ideal fit for this position has high expectations for themselves and should be able to work under pressure in a high-stress environment. You will be working directly with the executive chef, and closely with the entire kitchen and serving team. Job-specific requirements include at least 1-2 years of experience in commercial kitchens, catering, or restaurants, and has been trained in sanitation standards.

Retail Merchandiser

A fast-paced winery owned by NASCAR team owner, Richard Childress, is currently seeking a highly motivated individual who’s ready to exceed expectations in day-to-day operations and merchandising. Retail experience and hospitality experience is essential. The Retail Merchandiser, will be responsible for the Tasting Room & Gift Shop’s inventory and product displays, as well as the acquisition of new products and maintaining a pulse on consumer trends.
Retail Merchandiser Duties & Responsibilities:
- Maintains inventory by restocking shelves with product from inventory and observing inventory levels
- Setting up price and promotional signs, including implementing discounts and seasonal sales as Management sees fit
- Monitoring sales performance and inventory levels while identifying any losses or stock wastage
- Working with suppliers and distributors to negotiate prices and order large volumes
- Reordering popular products when levels appear low, and arranging for return and credit for damaged products.
- Collaborate with executives, marketers and salespeople to set prices that are good for the market and profit
- Getting to know the customer base and understanding their motivation and sales drivers
- Reviewing customer feedback to predict sales trends and seasonal stock demand
- Briefing staff on stock display and rotation to ensure every space is optimized
- Researching and monitoring industry trends and consumer behavior to anticipate demand and changes in buying patterns, including researching trends in presentation and layout
- Making predictions based on sales data, customer feedback and market trends
- Collaborating with the Tasting Room Managers and other teams, including Marketing, to plan displays and develop campaigns
- Maintains store shelves by observing displays of company products, removing unwanted, damaged or freshness-dated products, tidying store shelves, and providing optimum display of products.
- Assessing the effectiveness of different product displays and store layouts on sales figures
- Reviewing competitors, including pricing, profit, marketing and other progress

Retail Merchandiser Skills & Qualifications:

- Must be able to lift 45 pounds and be able to stand on feet for extended periods of time
- Some wine knowledge is preferred, however, general wine knowledge and information on specific wines can be taught by Tasting Room management
- Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
- Provide outstanding customer service to all guests
