Tasting Room & Gift Shop Associate

Part-time

Must be able to work weekends and holidays
Must be able to lift 45 pounds and be able to stand on feet for extended periods of time
Some wine knowledge is preferred, however, general wine knowledge and information on specific wines can be taught by Tasting Room manager
Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
Provide outstanding customer service to all guests

This position requires work on weekends and holidays, as well as occasional night shifts and special winery events.

Event Attendant

Part-time

A premier winery estate owned by NASCAR team owner and Hall of Fame member Richard Childress, located in Lexington, NC is seeking a Banquet Attendant. The winery opened in 2004 and produces over 30 wines ranging from sweet to dry. In addition to offering award-winning wines, the winery estate also offers state-of-the-art services and hospitality. Childress Vineyards offers multiple event venues allowing for specialization in small and large weddings, corporate meetings, private dinners, and a variety of other events.

Qualified applicants preferably have hospitality and/or formal dining experience.

Job responsibilities include but may not be limited to:

  • Provide superior customer service in all interactions with clients, prospects, vendors, and co-workers.
  • Assist in the setup and breakdown of event venues.
  • Provide food and beverage service to event guests.
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Wedding and/or formal dining experience preferred
  • Must be able to work nights and weekends.
  • Strong customer service, time management, problem-solving, and organizational skills are necessary
  • Ability to portray the Childress Vineyards brand and core values
  • Professional in appearance.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Sense of urgency when providing service to guests.

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to lift 35+ pounds on a daily basis

You will be working directly with the executive chef, and closely with the entire kitchen and serving team. Job-specific requirements include at least 1-2 years of experience in commercial kitchens, catering, or restaurants, and has been trained in sanitation standards.

Winery Shipping & Receiving Associate

Part-time

A premier winery estate owned by NASCAR team owner and Hall of Fame member, Richard Childress, located in Lexington, NC, is seeking an onsite Shipping and Receiving Associate to assist in importing and exporting winery products. Qualified applicants should have a minimum of one year of experience in retail and/or warehouse experience and excellent attention to detail.


Core responsibilities and accountabilities include:

  • Fulfilling and executing shipping orders placed through the Tasting Room and online store
  • Excellent computer skills
  • Detail oriented with excellent organization skills
  • Staying current on ship compliant regulations
  • Transfer inventory as needed
  • Receive and fulfill all incoming orders (includes direct sales and in-house orders)
  • Work alongside wine club manager for quarterly and monthly shipments
  • Assist in managing accounts with delivery services
  • Assist in ordering winery supplies; including shipping materials
  • Assist in overseeing all products delivered (including inventory management)
  • Must be able to communicate with other departments within the company
  • Willingness to grow and learn, and complete other tasks as needed
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
