Dark Chocolate Skillet Cookie 

Wine Pairing: Starbound

Yields: (4) 5” Cast Iron Skillets
Prep time: 5 minutes
Cook time: 10-12 minutes


  • 1 3/4 Cup All-Purpose Flour
  • 1/2 Cup Brown Sugar
  • 1/2 Cup White Sugar
  • 1/4 Tsp Baking Soda
  • 1/4 Tsp Salt
  • 1 1/2 Stick Unsalted Butter (6oz)
  • 1 Egg
  • 1 Tsp Vanilla
  • 12oz Dark Chocolate Chips



Allow butter to come to room temperature (approx. 1-2 hrs…should be completely soft but not melted).  In a stand mixer, use paddle attachment and cream together butter, sugar, and salt until creamy and pale in color (approx. 2-3 min on high).  Add vanilla and egg, mix on medium speed until egg is incorporated.  With mixer turned off, add sifted flour, baking soda, and chocolate chips to the bowl.  Mix on low speed just until ingredients are incorporated, scraping sides/bottom halfway through.  Using an ice cream scoop, place one 4oz scoop into the middle of each skillet (do not press down or spread dough to the sides of the skillet).  Bake in 275-300 degree oven for approx. 10-12 minutes.  Serve immediately.
