Three bottles of Childress Vineyards wine were featured in a segment on NBC's "Today" show in March.
Food editor Phil Lempert led the segment on "The Hottest New Foods." He touted some foods as being "in" and others being "out."
When it came to wine, Lempert proclaimed wines from the Napa Valley in California out and wines from North Carolina in. He mentioned global warming as a cause for the decline in quality of Napa wines.
The camera zoomed in on three bottles of Childress Vineyards wine. As the segment came to an end, Lempert mentioned the word Childress as he again talked about the rise of North Carolina wines.
