Many people ask me, "WinoJohn, where can I get a good wine that pairs well with barbequed pork sandwiches?" I usually respond with some insightful and informative retort like, "How the hell should I know?" (I'm really not very helpful when people ask me wine-related questions.)
But now, winos, I have the answer. I can now proudly direct those annoying BBQ-tians to read this month's Winery of the Month selection. WinoStuff is proud to announce the Winery of the Month winner for October...
You NASCAR fans will recognize the name. Childress. As in Richard Childress. Yes, that Richard Childress. (For you non-redneck winos, Richard Childress is a renowned NASCAR driver and a famous NASCAR team owner. For you totally out-of-touch winos, NASCAR is an American auto racing league with a lunatic following.)
But NASCAR is not the reason that Childress earned the ultimate honor. No, the reason why we awarded WotM to Childress Vineyards was their recent announcement that they will be releasing a new wine that is purported to pair well with BBQ. And what do they call this new miracle wine? Get this... Childress Vineyards Fine Swine Wine. You know, I have been longing for a good swine wine and now we have one!
This breakthrough in swine processing technology will debut at the The Barbeque Festival in Lexington, North Carolina on October 22, 2005. The wine will sell for $10 per bottle and a portion of the profits will be donated to the Mental Health Association of Davidson County.
Congratulations, Childress!!!
